I come from Shenzhen, where I have lived most of my life. For now, I am studying broad journalism in the United States, which is a brand new environment for me. In my first year at college, I thought I would have enough time to see how the world looks like, so I stayed in a comfort zone, where I stood still and refused to do anything challenging.

 

After my freshman year, I moved back to Shenzhen to finish my sophomore year online because of the epidemic. I have to admit, I had a great summer break, but I was just beginning to think about a very serious question: What do I really want to do in the future? After listening to the advice of my peers, I joined the Shenzhen Media Group for internship. I've been learning from professional journalists to photograph and capture new things I've never seen or heard of.  With all this experience in journalism, I chose to major in broadcast journalism, to find new experiences that were hard for us to find, to give us an alternative experience to see the world.

 

During my sophomore year, I also created a social media platform in Shenzhen, providing a high-quality social platform for international students in Shenzhen. I am currently managing activities for community groups in order to find more resources for international students.

 

Based on these activities, I find my path is to explore new and interesting things that help me understand the world, and I would like to use my social platform to meet more new people, to create things that people don't expect. As a journalist, these are the most important values of my future career.
